The cemetery now holds 7,240 burial records of the Commonwealth of the Second World War which 815 are marked as unknown. There are also 102 other nationalities war graves. The citadel like cemeteries became burial grounds for Common wealth, Greek, Italian and German soldiers then proceeding to Alexandria.
